Clinic Access Representative - FT
Job Summary:
The Clinic Access Representative performs a variety of patient care activities to assist the Provider/Medical Assistant with day-to-day operations which results in clinic efficiency. This includes scheduling advanced appointments and ensuring that walk-in patients are seen by the provider in a timely manner. This position is responsible for supplies in the work area and maintaining a safe work environment. Also, ensures that patient demographics and billing information are complete and accurate.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares the front office for the next day's appointments
- Obtains, monitors, and accurately records demographics, insurance, and authorization forms for each encounters.
- Collects copays and payments from patients for office visits, earplugs, etc
- Assists with the answering of the phone, creating tasks to the appropriate follow-up person
- Places reminder calls to patients for the next day's schedule.
- Scans documents to the appropriate file.
- Cleans area at the end of each day.
- Provides follow-up and returns patient calls.
- Maintains inventory of supplies.
- Acquires records from past providers, ER, or hospital visits for scheduled patients as needed
- Completes medical record requests from patients, other doctors, lawyer offices, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Associates degree a plus.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring.
- Must have basic computer skills. Microsoft Office experience required.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to communicate clearly, as well as understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.

Physical and mental requirements and working conditions for office assistant:
- The office assistant will work in a professional office environment.
- May have exposure to infectious and bloodborne diseases.
- Contact with customers under wide variety of circumstances.
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, handles emergency or crisis situations
- Occasionally subject to irregular hours
- The ability to cope with the mental stress and tension associated with the Office Assistant position
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations

Shift: Monday - Friday (varied) 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
